Synopsis
It follows Rupert Campbell-Black and Tony Baddingham as they have a long-running rivalry coming to an end. Coincidentally, Aidan Turner previously filmed at Chavenage House (the rival monastery). The same filming location was also used to depict Trenwith House in the 2015 BBC TV adaptation of Poldark. Absolutely incredible – the wit, the innuendo, the humour, the characters, the 80s-era relevance, the actors, the locations. – It’s perfection in a TV show. This type of TV has been lacking for at least the last decade – it has it all. Sentimentality and joy, tears of laughter and sadness, nostalgia on steroids and actors who play their roles to perfection. I don’t have a single bad word to say about this show. Hats off to the writers, cast, crew and everyone else involved. This is my second time watching it because it’s worth remembering too many of the one-offs that can be caught the first time around. Well done!
